What did he do the first time?
He gave a computer to a school, and left it there to see what the children could do.

Why did he do it?

He did it as an experiment, to see how the children reacted to the machine.

What happened when he returned?
The kids kind of knew how to use the computer.

What did people tell him was the reason for that?

That a person who knew IT showed them.

What did he do then?

He brought a computer to a village  where no one knew how to use a computer.

What happened when he returned to the little village?

That they taught themselves English so they could interact with the computer.

What does he want to do?

Make that the children can ask Old people through webcam, the questions they need answering.

What does he think about children and computers?

That students don't need teachers while there are computers.

What does he think about education?

that it needs to change. Because people can  self-learn and with technology now gives that option.

What system does he propose?

That the children work in  groups and the teacher encourages the students.

School Subjects summary

MME: In MME we have studied about all the computers components, different type of computers and how to fix them. This subject is interesting sometimes, when we have to build or take apart the computers.

SOM: In SOM we have studied about how to use Computer operating systems ( Windows and Linux) and see how they work. SOM is the most difficult out of all the subjects because there is a lot of theory to learn.

XL: In XL we have learnt how Networks work, how to make one, the different types of connections and how to find a problem with the network.

AW: In AW we have learnt HTML and CSS language to make webpages. It is the most enjoyable subject this year for me because i like using web language and making my own pages.

AO: We have learnt how to use Word, Excel, Access, we are currently using image and video editing programs and power point. It is the second easiest subject and it is interesting as well.

FOL: We have studied risks in businesses and  how to prevent them, we also have learnt about Social security and how it works and now we are learning way to get a job and tips to do it right.

History of Apple

The Origins and History of Apple

This tech corporation has repeatedly been named one of the world’s most admired Companies ___________. Learn more about the origins and history of Apple. Early Days Apple Computers was __________founded___________ by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in Cupertino, California on April 1, 1976. Wozniak was the _________engineer ___________ behind the computers, while Jobs had the mind for ________business _____________. The pair struggled to keep the company afloat in early days; however they succeeded in funding the venture without ever giving up shares in the company. Apple I Apple’s first ______product___________ was 1976’s Apple I. Compared to its competition, this machine used few _________Components __________. This was mainly due to the company’s limited budget. Steve Wozniak: “When you work on low _________resources ______________ and you’re trying to do it yourself with very few parts, you’re trying to be clever you’re trying to think out the whole ________Solution___________ in the shortest number of steps.” This made the Apple I a feat of engineering, and it remained on the _______market _____________ until late 1977. The Invention of the Home Computer The upgraded Apple II was first _________sold ____________ in June of that year. Ready to go right out of the box, it was a huge ______success______________ commercially and is recognized for establishing the market for home computers by being accessible and affordable. The Apple II remained the company’s main source of revenue for many years, and by the end of 1980 over one hundred thousand had been sold. 1980’s Apple III was prone to overheating, and was a _________failure____________for the company. Apple Goes Public However, 1980 was also the year Apple went public. The company generated more millionaires than any other before it, and the popularity of its founders was _________increasing____________. Steve Wozniak: “We started Apple: by 1980, I was going to computer _____________shows________ and – you know – we’re kinda going public, we’ve made a lot of money, we’ve been in the press long before that, Steve and I. And people are always asking me for an autograph – huh? What do you mean? I was just an engineer, I just did an engineer’s job, I designed a good computer.” Apple LISA Meanwhile, Apple was __________Busy__________ at work designing the Apple LISA. Released in June 1983, it proved to be a ________pawerful____________ concept and not a market success. However, it pioneered such terminology as the mouse, icon, and desktop. It was also Apple’s first graphical user interface model, which meant consumers interacted with ________images ________ rather than text commands. 1984 Commercial Apple’s next triumph came during the Super Bowl in January 1984. Steve Wozniak: “The 1984 commercial kind of showed a free-running person overturning somebody who’s dictating 'this is the way it’s going to be. You have no free ________thought_________ of your own.' That was the theme of that commercial.” Launch of Macintosh This ad introduced the Apple Macintosh to the American public, and is now considered one of the prime examples of U.S. __________advertising_____________. It was just one part of Apple’s aggressive and __________expensive _______ advertising campaign for the launch of the Macintosh computer, which was released just a few days later. Stand-out in the Market The Mac was loved by some and hated by others. Because of its ________Radical___________ differences from the rest of the market, it initially suffered from a lack of software. It was even _________incompatible __________ with the popular Apple II. Steve Wozniak: “We lost software in those areas, the left brain areas: accounting, law and engineering. A lot of the software is geared towards PCs, that’s where it exists now.” Mac + Adobe Eventually an affiliation with Adobe helped the Mac brand become the _________standard ___________ for computer users in specific industries. Steve Wozniak: “We could handle such things as ___________________, with PhotoShop, and videography with programs like Adobe Premiere shortly after the Avid was out. So we could do video editing and photography work and ___________________ much earlier because we had enough memory to do it. […] So all the artists and the video people and the producers and the movie people all got into Macintoshes and one you’re into it you love it so much it’s very difficult to pry you away.” The Steves Leave Despite Apple’s success, problems within the company forced Steve Jobs to _________leave__________ in 1985. Steve Wozniak left in 1987, though he is still a paid employee. Apple for Home Users, Mac for Professionals Meanwhile, Apple continued to market its two __________brands__________ to different pieces of the population: the Apple II series was best for home users, while more experienced professionals tended towards the Macintosh. Increasing Popularity of Windows However by the 1990s, Apple was struggling. IBM was handily _________winning____________ the marketplace on the success of Windows. Steve Wozniak: “When _________IBM_____________ came out, they had sales forces in all the big businesses. The market for home computers really wasn’t going to fit the Apple too well. The market for small business computers was much huger, so we kind of _______________________ the business market.” Return of Jobs At the end of 1996, Apple _______Purchased____________ Steve Jobs’ new company, NeXT, and brought the founder back to the company. Jobs went on to become CEO, and in December 1997 he introduced the online Apple Store. That same year the company announced a partnership with ________rival ____________ Microsoft that saw Apple adopt Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer as part of its default programs. Apple's Revival began with the release of the iMac in 1998. The company _________emphasized ___________ aesthetic design as one of its major strengths. 2001 was the year Apple opened its first retail stores, introduced iTunes and released the first iPod to the public. It kicked off a decade that boasted a steady upswing for the company, with the release of a number of new products and ___________operating__________ systems. Steve Wozniak: “We were the first ones to build USB ports into our computers, we invented firewire, we were really the first to ever have a ________Popular _____________ mass-produced and sold wi-fi.” The iPhone 2007 was the year the company __________changed___________the cell phone landscape by introducing the iPhone. Steve Wozniak:  The iPad The iPad went on sale in 2010, and was instantly __________succesfull________ in the tablet market. And in early 2011, Apple continued its trendsetting ways by introducing a new port to replace USB and similar connections. That same year, after resigning his role as CEO and replacing himself with Tim Cook, Steve Jobs passed away on October 5th following a long bout with pancreatic cancer. Torrents of tributes followed Jobs’ death, and proved his _______role______________ as a tech icon. What are gamers good at?

The four characteristics are, Urgent Optimism, Social fabric, Blissful productivity and epic meaning.

Urgent Optimism is about how gamers think positively on finishing a hard mission or completing a game, and they will always try their best even though they could fail.
- People could apply thinking so positively, like gamers do with their games, to research in real life.
Social Fabric is about how Gamers trust other gamers to play with them, to team up and fight against a boss, and that they will know that the other gamer will spend time to play with him.
- Apply the trust gamers have with other gamers, to groups of research  so they can get things done faster without being suspicious.
Blissful productivity is that gamers are happy playing, and are willing to work hard to accomplish their goal.
People should feel the same way, in their work place.
Epic meaning is that gamers are so attached that they put their knowledge of a game or more to use, be it wikis, walkthrough  or even guides.
I don't know how people could apply this in the real life.

I agree with what she says. I found interesting what she mentioned about the hours people play.

how to improve my English in class

I'm going to  speak English always in English, and stop talking in Catalan.

Test

1. Translate the following text into Catalan:

Today, if we just want to browse the web, we can do almost everything with one program - a web browser. A browser is one kind of 'net interface'. Net interfaces are programs which sit between you and the internet and help you and the Net make sense to each other. The browser takes care of the technical details of connecting you to the web, and makes sure that the information from the internet arrives in a way that makes sense to you. It also finds out what you want to do, and passes on the information in a way that the internet can understand.

Websites are built in different ways. Pages that contain a lot of information but are not very interactive are called 'static' pages. These are usually written in a language called HTML (HyperText Markup Language). Interactive pages can be written in VBS (Visual Basic Script) or in JavaScript. Because it can be dangerous to run unknown programs, many interactive websites today use interactive scripts that don't run on your computer. These scripts often use a language developed for Personal Home Pages (php)

Smart watches

Smart watches aren't that popular at the moment, because they haven't  made them do the right things yet. But i see them having a very  innovative future, because they will let people manage things just from their wrist, such as reading your email, calling, health related applications and even connect to the internet ( the screen might be a bit small to do normal things on it though). They will probably have a curved screen to them, so it would go around your wrist without it feeling uncomfortable.
They will probably have connectivity with smartphones, so you could probably control your mobile with the watch and vice-versa, and in several years they will have a greater impact on us, just like smartphones and tablets did.

Samsung and Sony have tried releasing int to  the market  some smart watches, but they don't have enough technology advancement in them, so people aren't interested in them. I Think Apple will be the first to make something good, because they are always releasing good innovations.

Yesterday I searched for information on the internet, but i didn't find the answer  on the exam exercise. Tomorrow i will ask the teacher.

Estic pensant en la meva pàgina web, crec que la programaré diferent, he decidit fer-la més fàcil de fer servir.

I'm thinking of my web page, i think that  i will program it differently, I have decided to make it  easier to use.

Steve Jobs changed the way we live, everyone uses the computer every day now and all the time. it seems that in the future we will use it a lot more.

Un cop a la setmana jugo a l'ordinador amb uns amics de Màlaga, la resta de dies jugo sol i normalment jugo a altres jocs.

Once a week I play on the computer with some friends from Malaga, all the other days i play on my own and normally different games.
