technology: Past, present, future

1) Do you remember any new devices or gadgets from the past? Did any new invention or innovation in technology surprise you? Anything that you found really useful?

The touch screen mobile phones (especially the iphone). Yes, I thought that the touch technology was very innovative, and could change the way we use devices in the future.
Yes the touch screen was very useful, it substituted the keyboard on mobile phones, and made it possible to do different things with the phones.

2) Read the following article on the technological innovations that took place in 2013. How many of them do they comment? Write their names down and give one or two details about each of them. Remember to use past tense in your sentences.

They mention 10 technological innovations.

- robotic cars ( they comment on some cars, specially the Mercedes s-class, that is full of consumer electronics  to help the driving of the driver.
- Drones ( they tested the BAE's unmanned fighter drone, and is speedier than other existing  UAV's).
- Camera with x-Ray ( a camera that uses x-rays to take photos, all in the same size and weight of a normal camera).
-Robots ( they made a cheetah robot and it's the fastest robot up to date, a phone that learns your patterns and schedules).,
- Google glass ( a kind of "mini" computer in a device that you wear like glasses, and has  a camera and an eye sensor so you can navigate with the device) .
- New generation of consoles ( they talk about how the new Xbox One has  a new sensor/camera that is so accurate at reading your body that it can read emotions).
- Commercial space ships (NASA completed tests on the commercial space ships).
- Healthcare ( they talk about how the Obamacare  didn't go that well) .
- NSA (They talk how Edward Snowden leaked documents on how the NSA was spying on peoples data, via the internet and phones etc.
- 3D printing ( The 3D printing concept had risen and it could go well in the future).

3) The following article is about what experts think technology will be like in the future. How many different innovations do they mention? Write them down and give one or two details about each of them. Do you agree with these predictions?

10 different technologies.
- zero-size technology ( they talk about how making technology smaller will be better for future devices and innovations).
- Moon, Mars and more (tehy talk how in 2017 NASA will launch  a spaceship to Mars, and then in about 2021 they might send astronauts to the moon, and with the same technology they might be able to send people to other planets).
- Neurohacking ( they talk about how they are researching how to read peoples minds with machines)
Mass Data ( They talk about how web-based storage and uploading information, photos etc on the internet people can get you data and use it for marketing etc)
- Quantum Control ( they could use the technology to power computer and communication, by using sound-activated quantum vibrations)
- youth tech movements ( youth could start a rebellion because of the lack of money, being stuck at home and with no money).
- nanotechnology ( they talk about the size  of a nanometer and how important it is for the future)
- Dark networks ( it's about how everyone uses the same social network tools and how hackers can get into your thing, as well as a group of hackers that hacked the fbi, the government of the UK to China).
- Universal translators ( How one day people that speak different languages, will be able to communicate with one another thanks to internet translators.)
Avatars, surrogates and robotics ( they talk about robotics, avatars are taking active  roles as replacements of humans.)
